Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (BR:SOF), which rose 1.02% or 1.60 points to trade at 158.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 1.01% or 0.80 points to end at 79.90 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.36% or 0.40 points to 112.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which fell 2.19% or 2.55 points to trade at 114.10 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 2.06% or 1.940 points to end at 92.220 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 1.51% or 0.196 points to 12.816.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 66 to 38 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sofina (BR:SOF) rose to all time highs; rising 1.02% or 1.60 to 158.00. Shares in Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 0.36% or 0.40 to 112.10.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.40% or 4.90 to $1222.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.02% or 1.37 to hit $69.03 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.42% or 1.03 to trade at $73.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.39% to 1.1614, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8907.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 94.80.
