Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 1.38% or 2.05 points to trade at 150.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Sofina (BR:SOF) added 0.53% or 0.70 points to end at 133.05 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 0.20% or 0.07 points to 35.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which fell 7.54% or 3.38 points to trade at 41.39 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.92% or 0.54 points to end at 27.58 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 1.41% or 1.040 points to 72.710.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 66 to 51 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) fell to 52-week lows; down 7.54% or 3.38 to 41.39.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.53% or 6.60 to $1248.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.79% or 0.45 to hit $56.69 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.42% or 0.90 to trade at $62.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1763, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8805.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 93.88.
