Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.74% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which rose 0.54% or 0.10 points to trade at 19.41 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 0.15% or 0.02 points to end at 13.15 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.10% or 0.04 points to 40.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 3.03% or 0.41 points to trade at 13.12 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 2.64% or 0.97 points to end at 35.84 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 1.78% or 0.770 points to 42.440.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 76 to 37 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in bpost NV (BR:BPOST) fell to all time lows; falling 3.03% or 0.41 to 13.12.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.83% or 10.40 to $1244.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.31% or 0.23 to hit $73.92 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.87% or 1.48 to trade at $77.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.1607, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8841.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 94.78.
