Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which rose 0.56% or 0.11 points to trade at 19.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore NV (BR:UMI) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 54.46 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 0.19% or 0.09 points to 46.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC (BR:KBC), which fell 1.88% or 1.150 points to trade at 59.890 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.44% or 0.200 points to end at 13.705 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was down 1.42% or 0.75 points to 52.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 40 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.88% or 10.35 to $1183.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 3.02% or 1.63 to hit $52.36 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 2.96% or 1.69 to trade at $55.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.0575, while EUR/GBP rose 1.40% to 0.8695.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 101.91.
