Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 1.09% or 0.88 points to trade at 81.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Sofina (BR:SOF) added 0.69% or 1.00 points to end at 146.20 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 0.64% or 0.75 points to 117.05 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which fell 6.34% or 3.01 points to trade at 44.44 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 3.02% or 1.25 points to end at 40.15 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 2.00% or 1.420 points to 69.720.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 64 to 45 and 28 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.09% or 14.10 to $1303.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.06% or 0.76 to hit $71.08 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.52 to trade at $79.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.27% to 1.1728, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8764.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.70.
