Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 2.19% or 3.00 points to trade at 140.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 0.73% or 3.10 points to end at 428.80 and Aedifica (EBR:AOO) was up 0.25% or 0.15 points to 60.75 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS), which fell 3.46% or 2.90 points to trade at 80.90 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 3.39% or 0.84 points to end at 23.96 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was down 2.65% or 0.66 points to 24.28.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 26 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.01% or 49.40 to $2,407.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.82% or 1.48 to hit $79.82 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.50% or 1.28 to trade at $83.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 104.03.
