Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.70% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 3.19% or 1.49 points to trade at 48.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 0.74% or 0.62 points to end at 83.89 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.52% or 0.20 points to 38.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 5.94% or 0.91 points to trade at 14.42 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 2.50% or 0.50 points to end at 19.50 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was down 1.66% or 1.85 points to 109.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 76 to 42 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) fell to 3-years lows; losing 2.50% or 0.50 to 19.50.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.40% or 5.10 to $1269.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.14% or 0.09 to hit $65.62 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.46% or 1.09 to trade at $73.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1597, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8756.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.59.
