Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Construction & Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which rose 4.39% or 0.31 points to trade at 7.46 at the close. Meanwhile, DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) added 0.70% or 0.210 points to end at 30.030 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.35% or 0.50 points to 141.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFBb), which fell 2.21% or 1.330 points to trade at 58.880 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.89% or 0.58 points to end at 30.30 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was down 1.84% or 0.44 points to 23.45.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 87 to 62 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) rose to all time highs; rising 0.35% or 0.50 to 141.90.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.40 to $1089.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.06% or 0.47 to hit $43.82 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.21 to trade at $47.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.0762, while EUR/GBP fell 0.22% to 0.7118.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 99.03.
