Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Healthcare sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 4.00% or 1.00 points to trade at 26.02 at the close. Meanwhile, Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) added 2.51% or 1.38 points to end at 56.34 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was up 2.27% or 1.35 points to 60.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which fell 10.19% or 8.33 points to trade at 73.40 at the close. Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) declined 3.29% or 2.65 points to end at 77.90 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was down 3.23% or 1.05 points to 31.47.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 55 to 29 and 23 ended unchanged.
Shares in Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) fell to all time lows; losing 10.19% or 8.33 to 73.40.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.68% or 16.70 to $2,489.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.92% or 0.72 to hit $77.19 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.56 to trade at $80.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 104.14.
