Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 0.63% or 0.14 points to trade at 22.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Sofina (BR:SOF) added 0.54% or 0.80 points to end at 148.20 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 0.31% or 0.25 points to 80.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which fell 3.75% or 1.56 points to trade at 40.03 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.17% or 0.16 points to end at 13.50 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) was down 1.08% or 1.00 points to 91.36.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 69 to 44 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sofina (BR:SOF) rose to all time highs; rising 0.54% or 0.80 to 148.20.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1302.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.65% or 0.43 to hit $65.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.85 to trade at $76.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.20% to 1.1775, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8784.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 93.54.
