Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 8.30% or 5.200 points to trade at 67.830 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 0.44% or 0.06 points to end at 13.74 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.03% or 0.05 points to 152.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC (BR:KBC), which fell 1.90% or 1.340 points to trade at 69.360 at the close. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) declined 1.81% or 1.18 points to end at 64.06 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 1.45% or 0.225 points to 15.305.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 70 to 35 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.89% or 11.41 to $1290.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.69% or 0.34 to hit $49.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.15 to trade at $52.55 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1758, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.9058.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 93.36.
