Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.54%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 0.31% or 0.22 points to trade at 71.12 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 0.18% or 0.140 points to end at 77.560 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was down 0.03% or 0.03 points to 91.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which fell 2.56% or 0.71 points to trade at 27.05 at the close. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) declined 1.77% or 0.77 points to end at 43.00 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was down 1.51% or 0.56 points to 36.58.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 92 to 30 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) fell to 52-week lows; losing 0.03% or 0.03 to 91.37.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.05% or 0.70 to $1339.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.65% or 1.08 to hit $64.48 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.08% or 0.75 to trade at $68.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.19% to 1.2405, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8774.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 89.02.
