Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 1.28% or 0.51 points to trade at 40.43 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.14% or 0.04 points to end at 27.88 and UCB (BR:UCB) was down 0.27% or 0.18 points to 66.78 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.05% or 1.760 points to trade at 83.900 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.73% or 0.40 points to end at 22.70 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was down 1.61% or 0.58 points to 35.42.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 75 to 38 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.48% or 6.30 to $1327.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.14% or 0.70 to hit $60.66 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.51% or 0.33 to trade at $64.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.2399, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8868.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 89.62.
