Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.52% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 1.73% or 0.65 points to trade at 38.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 0.63% or 0.28 points to end at 43.63 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.55% or 0.225 points to 40.780 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which fell 1.43% or 1.40 points to trade at 96.25 at the close. Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) declined 0.92% or 0.82 points to end at 88.61 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 0.68% or 0.30 points to 44.56.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 80 to 30 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.40% or 5.10 to $1277.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.61% or 0.34 to hit $55.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.28 to trade at $61.93 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.03% to 1.1794, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8956.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 93.77.
