Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.51%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which rose 0.96% or 1.25 points to trade at 131.25 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 0.56% or 0.400 points to end at 71.250 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 0.33% or 0.13 points to 39.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which fell 2.64% or 1.06 points to trade at 39.26 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) declined 2.19% or 2.30 points to end at 102.95 and UCB (BR:UCB) was down 1.91% or 1.22 points to 62.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 72 to 40 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) rose to 52-week highs; up 0.96% or 1.25 to 131.25.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.45% or 5.81 to $1275.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.37% or 0.21 to hit $57.14 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.81% or 0.52 to trade at $63.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1585, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8808.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 94.83.
