Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.45% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which rose 1.74% or 1.59 points to trade at 92.85 at the close. Meanwhile, D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) added 0.60% or 1.20 points to end at 201.40 and Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) was up 0.51% or 1.80 points to 354.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aedifica (EBR:AOO), which fell 3.01% or 1.80 points to trade at 58.00 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) declined 2.63% or 1.60 points to end at 59.20 and Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) was down 2.48% or 0.66 points to 26.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 54 to 45 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 2.87% or 68.50 to $2,322.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.25% or 0.19 to hit $75.36 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.44% or 0.35 to trade at $79.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.72% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.72% at 104.81.
