Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities, Financials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 3.57% or 0.76 points to trade at 22.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 1.05% or 1.20 points to end at 115.10 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 0.76% or 0.48 points to 63.24 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which fell 2.81% or 0.390 points to trade at 13.506 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) declined 1.94% or 0.880 points to end at 44.450 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) was down 1.78% or 1.66 points to 91.66.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 39 and 22 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.05% or 0.60 to $1313.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.14% or 2.17 to hit $71.23 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.11% or 2.33 to trade at $77.18 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.1854, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.8741.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 92.92.
