Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 1.11% or 1.25 points to trade at 113.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore NV (BR:UMI) added 0.85% or 0.46 points to end at 54.83 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.50% or 0.55 points to 110.45 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ageas (BR:AGES), which fell 1.74% or 0.535 points to trade at 30.255 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 1.46% or 1.06 points to end at 71.48 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 1.18% or 0.125 points to 10.445.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 80 to 55 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Umicore NV (BR:UMI) rose to all time highs; up 0.85% or 0.46 to 54.83.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.68% or 9.25 to $1347.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $48.19 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.53% or 0.27 to trade at $50.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.29% to 1.1320, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.8679.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 94.55.
