Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 0.97% or 0.43 points to trade at 45.26 at the close. Meanwhile, NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) added 0.88% or 0.35 points to end at 40.66 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was up 0.35% or 0.22 points to 63.01 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which fell 1.23% or 0.70 points to trade at 56.35 at the close. Ageas (BR:AGES) declined 1.01% or 0.395 points to end at 38.895 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 0.85% or 0.590 points to 68.540.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 66 to 34 and 17 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.70% or 9.27 to $1339.67 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.08% or 0.04 to hit $47.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.89% or 0.47 to trade at $52.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1919, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.9215.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 92.46.
