Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.42% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 2.29% or 1.06 points to trade at 47.40 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.52% or 0.07 points to end at 13.45 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 0.30% or 0.06 points to 19.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 3.57% or 2.980 points to trade at 80.500 at the close. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) declined 2.60% or 2.10 points to end at 78.80 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was down 1.09% or 0.41 points to 37.16.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 62 to 46 and 19 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.29% or 3.50 to $1204.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.14% or 1.47 to hit $67.25 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.70% or 1.31 to trade at $75.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1625, while EUR/GBP fell 0.34% to 0.8981.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 95.04.
