Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.40%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 0.96% or 1.70 points to trade at 179.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.60% or 0.16 points to end at 26.84 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was up 0.20% or 0.15 points to 73.39 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (EBR:ELI), which fell 3.65% or 3.40 points to trade at 89.85 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) declined 2.29% or 1.40 points to end at 59.80 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was down 1.64% or 0.42 points to 25.22.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 67 to 34 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB) rose to all time highs; rising 0.96% or 1.70 to 179.70.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.01% or 27.80 to $2,783.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.34% or 0.23 to hit $67.15 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.46% or 0.33 to trade at $70.67 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 104.22.
