Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 1.04% or 1.60 points to trade at 155.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 0.50% or 0.40 points to end at 80.00 and Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) was up 0.38% or 0.03 points to 6.66 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which fell 2.13% or 1.50 points to trade at 69.00 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.96% or 0.50 points to end at 25.04 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was down 1.61% or 0.50 points to 30.53.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 66 to 32 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 1.40 to $2,542.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.41% or 0.30 to hit $73.36 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.42% or 0.33 to trade at $77.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 101.42.
