Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Technology and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.37% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 5.86% or 30.00 points to trade at 541.60 at the close. Meanwhile, D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB) added 4.47% or 8.50 points to end at 198.50 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 0.08% or 0.03 points to 37.06 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI), which fell 5.82% or 3.40 points to trade at 54.98 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 5.70% or 1.50 points to end at 24.82 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was down 2.13% or 1.30 points to 59.65.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 67 to 27 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) rose to all time highs; up 5.86% or 30.00 to 541.60. Shares in Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.13% or 1.30 to 59.65.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.74% or 48.60 to $2,752.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.66% or 0.45 to hit $69.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.40 to trade at $72.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP rose 0.76% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.02.
