Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 1.87% or 0.20 points to trade at 10.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) added 1.64% or 8.40 points to end at 520.60 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was up 0.50% or 0.35 points to 70.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Elia (EBR:ELI), which fell 3.67% or 3.50 points to trade at 91.90 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) declined 1.84% or 1.15 points to end at 61.35 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB) was down 1.70% or 2.95 points to 171.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 32 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) rose to all time highs; up 1.64% or 8.40 to 520.60.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.54% or 14.70 to $2,753.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.93% or 2.05 to hit $72.09 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.72% or 2.02 to trade at $76.31 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.90.
