Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 2.07% or 1.820 points to trade at 89.740 at the close. Meanwhile, Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) added 0.71% or 0.35 points to end at 49.67 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 0.46% or 0.17 points to 37.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC (BR:KBC), which fell 0.92% or 0.600 points to trade at 64.800 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 0.87% or 0.62 points to end at 70.24 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 0.85% or 0.370 points to 43.090.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 56 to 50 and 17 ended unchanged.
Shares in KBC (BR:KBC) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.92% or 0.600 to 64.800.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.97% or 11.90 to $1216.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $67.86 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.46 to trade at $72.44 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.31% to 1.1603, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.8938.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.46% at 95.28.
