Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 2.99% or 0.98 points to trade at 33.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) added 2.17% or 4.00 points to end at 188.00 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) was up 1.38% or 0.15 points to 11.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 1.30% or 0.36 points to trade at 27.34 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 1.29% or 6.20 points to end at 475.70 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR:ABI) was down 1.17% or 0.68 points to 57.32.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 53 to 45 and 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Ackermans & Van Haaren NV (EBR:ACKB) rose to all time highs; rising 2.17% or 4.00 to 188.00.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 3.90 to $2,596.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.74% or 0.52 to hit $69.44 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.56 to trade at $73.14 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 100.61.
