Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which rose 1.31% or 0.44 points to trade at 33.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.95% or 0.22 points to end at 23.40 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 0.70% or 0.18 points to 25.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Sofina (EBR:SOF), which fell 2.18% or 4.80 points to trade at 215.20 at the close. Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) declined 2.06% or 0.29 points to end at 13.78 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB) was down 2.01% or 1.20 points to 58.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 34 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.58% or 38.00 to $2,359.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.00% or 0.83 to hit $82.33 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.88% or 0.76 to trade at $85.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 104.62.
