Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 2.48% or 1.54 points to trade at 63.53 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.53% or 0.400 points to end at 75.700 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) was up 0.21% or 0.09 points to 43.76 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which fell 1.17% or 0.17 points to trade at 14.33 at the close. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 0.73% or 0.90 points to end at 123.15 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 0.71% or 0.34 points to 47.47.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 60 to 47 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sofina (BR:SOF) fell to 52-week lows; down 0.73% or 0.90 to 123.15.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.39% or 5.08 to $1297.08 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.48% or 0.23 to hit $47.66 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.23% or 0.12 to trade at $52.16 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.65% to 1.1877, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.9223.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.58% at 92.69.
