Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Construction & Materials, Real Estate and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which rose 1.53% or 0.47 points to trade at 30.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 1.43% or 0.71 points to end at 50.71 and DIeteren SA (BR:IETB) was up 1.37% or 0.410 points to 30.440 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL), which fell 12.84% or 0.96 points to trade at 6.50 at the close. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) declined 2.72% or 1.08 points to end at 38.69 and Delhaize Group (BR:DELB) was down 1.23% or 1.09 points to 87.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 86 to 71 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) fell to all time lows; down 12.84% or 0.96 to 6.50.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.14% or 1.50 to $1089.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.44% or 0.63 to hit $44.50 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.31 to trade at $48.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.62% to 1.0684, while EUR/GBP fell 0.54% to 0.7074.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.39% at 99.51.
