Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo SA (EBR:COFB), which rose 1.78% or 1.15 points to trade at 65.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Aedifica (EBR:AOO) added 1.76% or 1.10 points to end at 63.50 and Sofina (EBR:SOF) was up 0.92% or 2.00 points to 220.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which fell 3.24% or 0.34 points to trade at 10.15 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 2.61% or 0.62 points to end at 23.14 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was down 2.16% or 1.56 points to 70.54.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 32 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.24% or 0.34 to 10.15. Shares in Aperam SA (AS:APAM) fell to 3-years lows; falling 2.61% or 0.62 to 23.14.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.64% or 16.25 to $2,526.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.26% or 1.56 to hit $67.59 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.26% or 1.64 to trade at $71.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.26% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 101.20.
