Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which rose 2.49% or 0.27 points to trade at 11.13 at the close. Meanwhile, Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) added 2.23% or 0.71 points to end at 32.58 and Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS) was up 2.18% or 1.63 points to 76.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were D’Ieteren NV (EBR:IETB), which fell 3.53% or 7.30 points to trade at 199.50 at the close. Elia (EBR:ELI) declined 2.72% or 2.30 points to end at 82.40 and Lotus Bakeries (EBR:LOTB) was down 2.17% or 240.00 points to 10,820.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 54 to 43 and 14 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.14% or 30.26 to $2,689.86 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.96% or 1.32 to hit $68.52 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.66% or 1.18 to trade at $72.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 105.66.
