Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Telecoms and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 3.56% or 1.42 points to trade at 41.28 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.35% or 0.18 points to end at 13.50 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.16% or 1.100 points to 96.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which fell 2.47% or 0.35 points to trade at 13.80 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.38% or 0.30 points to end at 21.37 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was down 1.16% or 1.01 points to 86.29.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 55 to 55 and 15 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.11% or 1.30 to $1221.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.02% or 1.39 to hit $70.08 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.02% or 0.76 to trade at $75.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.47% to 1.1713, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8919.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 94.09.
