Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 1.08% or 0.170 points to trade at 15.925 at the close. Meanwhile, Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 0.91% or 0.42 points to end at 47.20 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 0.62% or 0.18 points to 29.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which fell 2.07% or 1.780 points to trade at 84.200 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 1.36% or 0.79 points to end at 57.38 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 1.17% or 0.53 points to 44.27.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 73 to 40 and 19 ended unchanged.
Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.08% or 0.170 to 15.925.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.28% or 3.62 to $1277.28 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.98% or 0.51 to hit $52.41 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.52% or 0.87 to trade at $58.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1763, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.8968.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.82.
