Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Technology and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (EBR:ARGX), which rose 3.71% or 14.90 points to trade at 416.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 3.16% or 0.74 points to end at 24.14 and UCB SA (EBR:UCB) was up 0.81% or 1.15 points to 143.95 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB), which fell 4.24% or 1.44 points to trade at 32.51 at the close. Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) declined 1.82% or 0.14 points to end at 7.54 and Umicore SA (EBR:UMI) was down 1.81% or 0.25 points to 13.53.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 67 to 31 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB) rose to all time highs; rising 0.81% or 1.15 to 143.95.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.24% or 5.65 to $2,369.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.20% or 0.99 to hit $81.34 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.25% or 1.07 to trade at $84.68 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 104.83.
