Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 1.05% or 0.980 points to trade at 94.660 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.84% or 0.11 points to end at 13.24 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 0.60% or 0.44 points to 73.34 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which fell 2.32% or 1.70 points to trade at 71.60 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.55% or 0.164 points to end at 10.390 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was down 1.41% or 0.25 points to 17.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 58 to 47 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 1.55% or 0.164 to 10.390.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.08% or 1.00 to $1224.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $69.00 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.28% or 0.22 to trade at $79.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1461, while EUR/GBP rose 0.26% to 0.8840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 95.81.
