Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.23%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 1.37% or 0.20 points to trade at 14.43 at the close. Meanwhile, NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) added 1.14% or 0.45 points to end at 39.37 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 1.02% or 0.24 points to 23.88 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which fell 3.83% or 5.75 points to trade at 144.50 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.68% or 1.440 points to end at 84.500 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was down 1.07% or 0.33 points to 30.52.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 88 to 23 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.56% or 7.21 to $1290.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.31% or 0.68 to hit $51.36 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.63% or 0.95 to trade at $57.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.48% to 1.1843, while EUR/GBP rose 0.75% to 0.8993.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 93.02.
