Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Pharma & Bio-technology, Food Producers and Beverage sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 1.53% or 0.39 points to trade at 25.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.34% or 0.20 points to end at 15.46 and Befimmo-Sicafi (BR:BEFBb) was up 0.52% or 0.310 points to 59.660 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were DIeteren SA (BR:IETB), which fell 5.35% or 1.675 points to trade at 29.610 at the close. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 1.14% or 0.78 points to end at 67.67 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was down 1.12% or 1.15 points to 101.25.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 81 to 65 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.98% or 11.50 to $1166.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 2.16% or 1.00 to hit $45.29 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.49% or 0.72 to trade at $47.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1352, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.7345.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 94.95.
