Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Consumer Services and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which rose 2.21% or 0.36 points to trade at 16.64 at the close. Meanwhile, Umicore SA (BR:UMI) added 1.69% or 0.79 points to end at 47.55 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 1.57% or 1.200 points to 77.560 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which fell 1.76% or 0.88 points to trade at 49.00 at the close. Sofina (BR:SOF) declined 0.42% or 0.60 points to end at 143.20 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 0.31% or 0.220 points to 69.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 75 to 36 and 18 ended unchanged.
Shares in Umicore SA (BR:UMI) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.69% or 0.79 to 47.55.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.06% or 0.80 to $1313.90 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.09% or 0.76 to hit $70.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.55% or 1.16 to trade at $76.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.26% to 1.1930, while EUR/GBP fell 0.53% to 0.8794.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 92.56.
