Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 1.09% or 0.62 points to trade at 57.66 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 0.92% or 0.480 points to end at 52.880 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 0.40% or 0.045 points to 11.330 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which fell 2.15% or 2.52 points to trade at 114.67 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 2.08% or 1.230 points to end at 57.870 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was down 1.43% or 1.75 points to 120.90.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 91 to 54 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Umicore NV (BR:UMI) rose to all time highs; up 1.09% or 0.62 to 57.66.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.25 to $1255.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.23% or 0.62 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.57 to trade at $51.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.21% to 1.0995, while EUR/GBP rose 0.23% to 0.9024.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.17% at 97.91.
