Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Proximus NV (EBR:PROX), which rose 1.64% or 0.11 points to trade at 6.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Ageas (EBR:AGES) added 1.11% or 0.48 points to end at 43.82 and Sofina (EBR:SOF) was up 0.56% or 1.20 points to 215.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Umicore SA (EBR:UMI), which fell 2.03% or 0.23 points to trade at 11.11 at the close. Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP) declined 1.29% or 0.32 points to end at 24.40 and Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) was down 0.93% or 0.75 points to 79.75.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 47 to 39 and 20 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.60% or 40.00 to $2,532.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.52% or 1.19 to hit $76.97 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.32% or 1.07 to trade at $79.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 102.54.
