Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrial Engineering and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 2.09% or 0.34 points to trade at 16.62 at the close. Meanwhile, bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.89% or 0.25 points to end at 13.45 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 1.19% or 0.48 points to 40.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which fell 1.85% or 0.57 points to trade at 30.30 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 1.82% or 1.83 points to end at 98.72 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was down 1.79% or 1.19 points to 65.31.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 66 to 49 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aperam SA (AS:APAM) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.85% or 0.57 to 30.30.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.58% or 7.20 to $1225.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.67% or 0.45 to hit $66.59 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.14% or 0.88 to trade at $76.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1364, while EUR/GBP rose 0.43% to 0.8928.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 96.63.
