Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.19% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 1.00% or 0.80 points to trade at 81.00 at the close. Meanwhile, UCB (BR:UCB) added 0.69% or 0.54 points to end at 79.30 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.67% or 0.300 points to 44.880 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 19.50% or 4.82 points to trade at 19.90 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 0.76% or 0.660 points to end at 86.500 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was down 0.63% or 0.51 points to 80.14.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 64 to 44 and 21 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 2.60 to $1207.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.44% or 0.31 to hit $70.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.68% or 0.53 to trade at $78.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1615, while EUR/GBP rose 0.76% to 0.9021.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 95.07.
