Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Financials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR:UCB), which rose 1.70% or 2.95 points to trade at 176.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Proximus NV (EBR:PROX) added 1.11% or 0.07 points to end at 6.35 and Ageas (EBR:AGES) was up 0.75% or 0.36 points to 48.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which fell 2.50% or 1.86 points to trade at 72.44 at the close. Argen-X (EBR:ARGX) declined 1.72% or 9.00 points to end at 513.60 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was down 1.45% or 0.40 points to 27.18.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 51 to 41 and 15 ended unchanged.
Shares in UCB SA (EBR:UCB) rose to all time highs; up 1.70% or 2.95 to 176.70.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 13.75 to $2,743.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.99% or 0.70 to hit $70.07 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.91% or 0.68 to trade at $74.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.10% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 104.07.
