Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Beverage sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Syensqo SA (EBR:SYENS), which rose 1.89% or 1.38 points to trade at 74.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Melexis NV (EBR:MLXS) added 1.25% or 0.70 points to end at 56.70 and Solvay SA (EBR:SOLB) was up 0.79% or 0.25 points to 31.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Warehouses de Pauw Comm VA (EBR:WDPP), which fell 2.71% or 0.56 points to trade at 20.14 at the close. Aedifica (EBR:AOO) declined 2.24% or 1.30 points to end at 56.65 and Sofina (EBR:SOF) was down 2.01% or 4.40 points to 214.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 57 to 37 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.68% or 18.19 to $2,658.01 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.13% or 0.09 to hit $68.45 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.08 to trade at $72.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.45% at 105.81.
