Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 1.27% or 0.15 points to trade at 12.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) added 0.75% or 0.80 points to end at 107.70 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 0.64% or 0.50 points to 78.08 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which fell 2.61% or 0.38 points to trade at 14.20 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 2.07% or 0.96 points to end at 45.48 and Argen-X (BR:ARGX) was down 1.48% or 1.00 points to 66.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 71 to 29 and 23 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.53% or 6.40 to $1198.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.61% or 0.44 to hit $71.84 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.22% or 0.18 to trade at $81.08 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1749, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8916.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.83.
