Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 4.76% or 3.90 points to trade at 85.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET) added 1.62% or 0.70 points to end at 43.82 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 1.33% or 0.32 points to 24.44 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which fell 2.39% or 0.61 points to trade at 24.89 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) declined 1.21% or 0.14 points to end at 11.41 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 1.11% or 0.120 points to 10.684.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 61 to 48 and 18 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.29% or 3.60 to $1226.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.35% or 0.18 to hit $51.27 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.43% or 0.26 to trade at $59.65 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.63% to 1.1321, while EUR/GBP fell 0.52% to 0.8864.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 97.095.
