Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Utilities, Basic Materials and Financials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 3.02% or 1.780 points to trade at 60.640 at the close. Meanwhile, ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 1.78% or 0.193 points to end at 11.008 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was up 1.03% or 1.20 points to 117.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KBC (BR:KBC), which fell 1.87% or 0.980 points to trade at 51.480 at the close. Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) declined 1.28% or 1.50 points to end at 115.30 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 0.83% or 0.270 points to 32.325.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 77 to 75 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.01% or 13.55 to $1330.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 3.46% or 1.59 to hit $44.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 3.40% or 1.63 to trade at $46.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1209, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8612.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 95.44.
