Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (BR:UMI), which rose 1.51% or 0.73 points to trade at 48.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 1.09% or 0.80 points to end at 74.00 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.78% or 0.340 points to 44.010 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which fell 4.87% or 2.06 points to trade at 40.24 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.41% or 0.29 points to end at 20.32 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was down 1.12% or 0.140 points to 12.350.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 59 to 57 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Proximus NV (BR:PROX) fell to 3-years lows; losing 1.41% or 0.29 to 20.32. Shares in ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.12% or 0.140 to 12.350.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.49% or 6.20 to $1262.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.23% or 2.20 to hit $70.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.07% or 1.54 to trade at $76.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1667, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.22.
