Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Consumer Goods and Utilities sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.07% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 2.29% or 0.265 points to trade at 11.830 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 2.05% or 1.110 points to end at 55.280 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 0.89% or 0.24 points to 27.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which fell 2.30% or 2.35 points to trade at 100.00 at the close. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) declined 1.87% or 1.03 points to end at 53.96 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was down 1.79% or 0.71 points to 38.94.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 95 to 51 and 11 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.39% or 5.05 to $1303.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.79% or 0.81 to hit $44.53 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.37% or 0.64 to trade at $46.22 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1107, while EUR/GBP fell 1.22% to 0.8912.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 97.17.
