Investing.com – Belgium stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 1.30% or 0.145 points to trade at 11.280 at the close. Meanwhile, KBC (BR:KBC) added 1.06% or 0.570 points to end at 54.560 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) was up 0.83% or 0.46 points to 55.69 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which fell 2.01% or 0.57 points to trade at 27.84 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.26% or 0.33 points to end at 25.43 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was down 1.17% or 1.35 points to 114.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 91 to 61 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Proximus NV (BR:PROX) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.26% or 0.33 to 25.43.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.90% or 11.45 to $1257.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.02% or 0.51 to hit $50.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.20% or 0.62 to trade at $52.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1160, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.8817.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.45% at 96.56.
